Kyo Sa Certification Applicants are an even more select group of practitioners who become assistant teachers (Jo Kyo) not only help teach within their studio; these self starting individuals also reach out to the public  (START)  to promote public awareness of, and practice of, Soo Bahk Do^® and recruit new students to become Federation members.

These enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals often seek to obtain Kyo Sa (teacher) Certification so that in addition to teaching students, they can also evaluate student performance and recommend students for rank promotion by submitting student test results to the Technical Advisory Committee via National Member Headquarters.

Those seeking Kyo Sa Certification and those who are already Kyo Sa Certified Instructors also often seek to obtain Studio Certification for the location where they plan to teach or they seek to obtain Teaching Program Certification so their teaching activity is endorsed by the Federation and their teaching location is listed as a Moo Duk Kwan^® Certified training center that provides authentic instruction in the Soo Bahk Do^® martial art system.

Kyo Sa Certification Applicants who successfully complete the Kyo Sa Certification examination under a Regional Examiner are very often future Ko Dan Ja Candidates and Sa Bom Certification applicants and (START) program initiators.
